Howdy, I'm Liz!
Founder and Creative Director of Monstera Design Co.
I started this little studio right here in my hometown of Richmond, Virginia because graphic design is my passion.
Jokes aside, the 'Monstera' portion of our name comes from my favorite plant species to keep-- Monstera deliciosa. They're resilient, grow in unexpected and unique ways, and they get more beautiful over time. Kind of like good design!
Design and branding aren't just about making things look good (although that's important too!). It's about connection, building trust, and creating something functional for your business and speaks to your clientele. I get excited about every project, whether it's a complete rebrand or just freshening up your business cards.
When I'm not at my computer, I'm usually playing video games, creating illustrations, or checking out local businesses around Richmond. I'm a huge coffee snob former barista and love trying all the unique coffee shops our little city has been blessed with.

I've been creating digital experiences for over two decades, and every project has taught me something new in the ever-shifting online environments.
Trends are always changing, but the basics of good design remain the same. I tend to lean towards timeless looks that can be easily updated and scaled.

The Journey to Monstera Design Co.
- Self-taught web design, branding, and digital marketing. I was playing around with HTML at age 10 and was utterly fascinated with early 2000s web design!
- Spent many years creating digital and printed assets for myself, friends, and family
- Accumulated real-world business experience across multiple industries -- from logistics and hospitality, to video streaming and social media marketing
- Built my initial portfolio through primarily small businesses and independent clients
- Founded Monstera to create authentic, eye-catching brand and web solutions with an emphasis on community
