I'm Liz, and after years of watching amazing business owners within my community stumble with design decisions or settle for templates that just don't quite fit, I decided it was time to pitch in and be the change I'd like to see: to help small businesses find the identity and voice that their brands deserve.
Why "Monstera"?
I'm a bit of a plant person. There's something about watching things grow that just scratches an itch. Monstera deliciosa in particular is a beautiful, adaptable species that start small and develop their own unique character as they mature. That's exactly what I want for the businesses I work with! Your brand should be something that grows and develops with you.
Plus, they're just really cool-looking and standing out is kind of the name of the design game, right?
What Are My Goals?
On the topic of design, I'm a firm believer that it shouldn't be complicated or pretentious. I've worked with healthcare providers who wanted to expand their practice, researchers who wanted to look credible without being boring, and local businesses that deserved better than boring solutions. Every project is different, and that's what makes this work so fun and rewarding. I want my clients to feel like they're getting top-tier designs without paying top-tier premiums or ( in my humble opinion ) predatory monthly maintenance fees for websites that exist for months without any real updates or work from the webmaster. You should get exactly what you pay for!
The Small Business Struggle
Look, I get it. When you're running a small business, design often feels like this luxury expense you can't always justify. You've got payroll to worry about, inventory to manage, and a million other things demanding your attention and your budget. Here's what I've learned, though: good design and branding doesn't have to be a luxury. It's what makes people stop scrolling, builds trust before you even shake hands, and turns a casual window-shopper into a paying customer.
What Makes Us Different
I'm not going to pretend that Monstera is some huge agency with a fancy midtown office with immaculate interior design and a receptionist. It's just me, a sole proprietor, drinking one too many cups of coffee and obsessing over whether that shade of green is quite right for the brand I'm working on.
